Nineteen years after the inception of St. Joseph School Pandacan in 1955 by His Eminence Rufino Cardinal Santos, D.D. with the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM), the clamor for an organization which will represent the graduates of the school materialized in 1974. The first president of the SJS Alumni Association was Mrs. Teresita Galang-Carey whose term lasted until 1977. Continuing the alumni association became the responsibility of Ms. Trinidad Robles,
her term was the longest in the history of our alumni association – from 1977 to 2000. Next was Mrs. Priscila Carpio-Ilao who was president from 2000-2003.By 2003-2006, the president was Ms. Millie Anne R. Carreon who was the youngest president.
In March 2006, Mrs. Myrna L. Dacanay was elected into office as the fifth president of the alumni association. During Mrs. Dacanay’s term our association was registered with the SEC and BIR as a non-stock, non-profit organization and is now known as the ST. JOSEPH'S SCHOOL-PANDACAN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, INC. Mrs. Dacanay served the association from 2006-2009. In 2009, the very first male president of SJS-PAAI was elected in the person of Mr. Jaime Roberto P. Pamatmat, whose term ended in May 2012. Mrs. Julie R. Concepcion, president from 2013 to 2016. Atty. Noemi E. Ferrer, our current president will steer the association until 2020.

Like any kind of organization, SJS-PAAI has survived trial and tribulations to evolve into a better and stronger entity. Though much has been learned, more will be experienced in the years to come. In its progression, the alumni association has elected new officers who shall carry on the objective of uniting its members, efficiently plan and effectively execute the programs and projects that will benefit not just its members and our Alma Mater but the community as well.
SJS-PAAI THROUGH THE TIMES
ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL OF PANDACAN was established in 1955 by His Eminence Rufino Cardinal Santos with the goal of providing a Catholic education for the youth of Pandacan and its neighboring areas. The collaboration of His Eminence, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM) and the Sto. Niño Parish Priest, Msgr. Guillermo Mendoza led to the very first building of St. Joseph School. This was built on the vacant lot adjacent to the Sto. Niño Parish Church. In 1959, under the direction of Sister Marie Alice Dietz Jens, ICM who was the school’s first principal, a new building for the high school level was built.
