ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL OF PANDACAN - OUR SCHOOL
ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL OF PANDACAN was established in 1955 by His Eminence Rufino Cardinal Santos with the goal of providing a Catholic education for the youth of Pandacan and its neighboring areas. The collaboration of His Eminence, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM) and the Sto. Niño Parish Priest, Msgr. Guillermo Mendoza led to the very first building of St. Joseph School. This was built on the vacant lot adjacent to the Sto. Niño Parish Church. In 1959, under the direction of Sister Marie Alice Dietz Jens, ICM who was the school’s first principal, a new building for the high school level was built. At that time the grade school had separate classes for male and female students.

When the high school level was established, only female students were accepted. With its growing population, the school needed to expand and a new building was blessed and opened on November 8, 1971. The ICM Sisters managed the school until 1993 when its management was turned over to the parish priest of the Sto. Niño Parish.

In 1994, the Sisters of the Missionary Apostles of Christ (MACE) were invited to help in the financial aspect of the administration of the school as well as handle areas of religious education. During the same year, male students were accepted in the high school department. In 2002, the parish priest gave up the directorship of the school. The Archbishop of Manila, His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin, appointed Rev. Fr. Nolan A. Que, Ph.D. to the post of School Director, a position he held on until 2015.
